We are expecting!!

Mike and I found out that we are expecting our first child on November 20th. We were both excited but more scared, I think, when we found out. Not scared that we were going to be parents, but scared that it was going to be another ectopic pregnancy. I had the pregnancy confirmed at the doctor's office the following day! She sent me for an ultrasound to make sure that baby Turner is in fact in my uterus and he is in the right spot! YAY! That put our fears at ease and we could breathe a little easier! Two weeks later, I was sent for another ultrasound at the hospital to make sure we were progressing okay. Baby Turner measured at 7 weeks one day on December 8th. The heartbeat was estimated at 138 beats per minute. I couldn't hear it but I could see it and it brought tears to my eyes! After I saw the heartbeat, I was amazed! My fears stemming from the past pregnancy were definitely put at rest - for the most part. Here is the first ultrasound: you can't see much but the arrow is pointing at baby and the darker circle underneath is the yolk sac, which will dissapear by the next ultrasound.Today, I am a little more than 10 weeks pregnant and Mike and I couldn't be happier! So far I have felt wonderful. No sickness at all - thank goodness! I feel nauseous at times but usually only when I let myself get hungry or I'm brushing my teeth. I have been pretty lucky. But considering what I had to go through about 11 months ago, I think I deserve a break :)
I had an appointment with my new Doctor in Eden, NC yesterday - he is wonderful! I hope he will be the one doing the delivery, as there are 3 others in the office that I have yet to meet - I'm sure they are all wonderful, though! I go back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks! I am so excited to see baby Turner in 2 weeks! He is actually going to look more like a baby and I will hopefully be able to hear the heartbeat! That will be amazing!
